The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has assembled a 228-member campaign council to coordinate grassroots mobilisation and drive support for President Bola Tinubu and other party candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The state APC chairman, Kolawole Babatunde, said the council brings together political leaders, party stakeholders, women and youth leaders, support groups and grassroots mobilisers from across the state.
In a statement announcing the council, Babatunde said the structure was designed to “drive grassroots mobilisation and secure victory for President Bola Tinubu and all party candidates” in the 2027 elections.
He said the council would coordinate campaign activities and strengthen support for the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa will chair the council, while Deputy Governor Olayide Adelami is Vice Chairman I.
The Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Olamide Oladiji; Babatunde; Minister of Interior, Bunmi Tunji-Ojo; Minister of Finance, Prof. Taiwo Oyedele; and Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, are listed as vice chairmen.
Former Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Victor Olabimtan, was named Director-General of the campaign council, with Olumuyiwa Adu as Deputy Director-General.
The party said the structure was also aimed at uniting its stakeholders and supporters across the state as it prepares for the 2027 elections.
Among those listed on the council are former Governor Olusegun MimOlabimtan, Senator Jide Ipinsagba, Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire, Senator Dayo Faduyile and Chief Pius Akinyelure, Chairman of the Governor’s Advisory Council.
Serving federal lawmakers on the council include Ife Ehindero of Akoko North-East/North-West Federal Constituency, Adegboyega Adefarati of Akoko South-West/South-East, Timehin Adelegbe of Owo/Ose, Derin Adesida of Akure South/Akure North, Festus Akingbaso of Idanre/Ifedore, Abiola Makinde of Ondo West/Ondo East, Festus Adefiranye of Ile-Oluji/Oke Igbo, Okunjimi Odimayo of Okitipupa/Irele and Donald Ojogo of Ilaje/Ese-Odo.
Former deputy governors, past governorship candidates and former ministers also featured in the campaign structure.
They include Omolade Oluwateru, Alli Olanusi, Lasisi Oluboyo, Agboola Ajayi, Prof. Claudius Daramola, Senator Tayo Alasoadura and Ademola Adegoroye.
Senator Nimbe Farukanmi will chair the APC Elders Forum, while former senators Gbenga Ogunniya, Remi Okunrinboye, Titus Olupitan, Robert Ajayi Boroffice, Yele Omogunwa and Boluwaji Kunlere are members.
The council also includes local government chairmen, among them Mohammed Mutiu of Akoko North-East, Gbenga Fasua of Akure South, Ayotunde Akinfolarin of Ondo West and Andrew Ogunsakin of Okitipupa.
Ola Oguntimehin was appointed secretary of the council.
