Flood, Leaking Roofs, Power Outage Threaten Remodeled Benin Airports

Passengers at the newly Re-modeled Benin Airport commissioned early this year by the minister of Aviation Stella Oduah are now grappling with the sudden leakage of rain water from downpour and the hot condition of the departure hall arising from frequent power outage which has further worsen the situation.

The Benin Airport in recent times has been guests to so many personalities before and after it was re-modelled in line with the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan to beautify virtually all the Airports in the country.

Some of the passengers who had besiege the airport to catch up with their flights before the heavy downpour were surprise at the leaking roofs, poor condition of Air-conditioning of the departure hall and flooded runway which could threatened landing aircrafts.

While some of the passengers and staff working at the airport who spoke on anonymity said it is shameful that despite huge amount of money spend at the airport it is yet to meet the standards the minister spoke of.

They however call on the minister to ensure it carries out appropriate repairs and put the airport in good condition and not fool Nigerians.

Effort to get shots on the condition of the airport were rebuffed by the security agents just as the Airport manager Mr. Ayodele Sunday Olusegun could not be reached for comment.
