The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila has expressed confidence in chairmen of various house committees in the ongoing budget defence process.

Gbajabiamila stated this in Abuja, Wednesday while he paid a visit to various committees during their 2020 budget defence with Ministries, Departments and Agencies.

The Speaker while responding to a question on why some committees choose to do their budget defence in a closed-door, said that it could be due to reasons which can be related to security or absolutely necessary for the country's interest.

He said closed-door meetings are not to shut out the media as widely insinuated in various quarters.

He, therefore, called on MDAs to give their full corporation in order for the National Assembly to meet its October deadline for the budget defence.
