The monarch said the military unit would help curb insecurity and criminal activities in the area, while strengthening the protection of lives and property.

He expressed appreciation to the Federal Government and the Army leadership for extending military presence to the community.

In his response, the GOC thanked the monarch for his reception and support, assuring him of a stronger Nigerian Army presence in Idah and neighbouring communities.

He said the Army would continue to work with traditional rulers, community leaders and other stakeholders in line with the COAS’s people-centred command philosophy.

Gara said collaboration with local communities would improve access to reliable and timely intelligence, which was critical to effective military operations.

The visit was attended by chiefs, elders and retired military generals from the area, who expressed solidarity with the Nigerian Army’s presence in the community.

The engagement underscored the importance of traditional institutions and community partnerships in strengthening security and supporting military operations in Kogi.
