Former Vice-President and ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has criticized the Federal Government's planned ₦70,000 monthly transport allowance for public service workers, describing the intervention as an inadequate measure that fails to address broader economic pressures, including escalating costs for food, energy, and housing.
Atiku Abubakar criticizes the FG’s ₦70k transport support as insufficient for rising costs, proposing domestic fuel production subsidies as an alternative.
Responding to criticism from opposition leaders over recent international loans, the President emphasized that borrowing should be judged by the long-term infrastructure, economic value, and productive capacity created for future generations rather than the amount accessed.
