Women in the All Progressives Congress (APC) have set a target of 40 million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, with the party’s women mobilisation directorate saying it is building grassroots structures across the country to achieve the goal.
The Director of Women Mobilisation of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Betta Edu, disclosed this on Monday at the 2026 Pre-Inaugural Women’s Summit and Empowerment Programme in Abuja.
Edu said the mobilisation, spearheaded by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, would cover the 36 states, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), 774 local government areas, wards, communities and polling units.
She said the strategy would go beyond campaign rallies by creating networks through which women leaders could engage their communities and promote the policies and programmes of the Tinubu administration.
“We are moving into the 2027 electoral season with purpose, structure, and determination. Our target is 40 million women’s votes, and we are building the organisation required to achieve it,” Edu said.
She expressed confidence that Tinubu would secure another term in office, declaring, “President Tinubu will win again.”
The event, convened by the First Lady at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja, was themed, “Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0: From Reforms to Prosperity – One Voice, One Movement, One Choice, One Mandate 2027".
Edu also praised Oluremi Tinubu for leading efforts to mobilise and empower APC women, particularly through initiatives focused on enterprise, agriculture, skills development, governance and community development.
The summit featured the distribution of empowerment items, including motorbikes and farm trucks, to selected women beneficiaries.
The First Lady also held a closed-door meeting with female APC candidates and other stakeholders on the sidelines of the programme.
The gathering was attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima’s wife, Nana Shettima; APC Presidential Campaign Council Director-General, Abdulaziz Yari; Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma; former APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje; and women leaders from across the 36 states and the FCT.
At the event, Edu led participants in a chant endorsing Tinubu’s re-election, after which she declared that the President would remain in office until 2031.
