Students destroy properties worth millions

Students of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo have destroyed properties worth several millions of Naira during a protest at the campus on Monday, January 22, 2018.


The irate students went on rampage protesting at the manner students who have not paid tuition fees were barred from sitting for exams.

Students in their large numbers believing to be those that are yet to pay school fees besieged the examination hall throwing stones and bottles thereby disrupting the ongoing examination.

Staff vehicles and school properties including the information, communication technology center were badly destroyed.

 

Meanwhile, the school management has closed down the school indefinitely with instructions that all students should vacate the school campus with immediate effect.
