Stop Bullying Yoruba Monarchs, Ogun Youths Warn Igboho

Youths in Ogun state have warned the self-acclaimed Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly called "Sunday Igboho" and his followers to stop bullying and attacking Yoruba monarchs over the agitation for the actualization of the Yoruba nation.

The youths, under auspices of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Sagamu branch, Ogun state, stressed that there was a need for Igboho to educate and caution his followers against their continuous disregard of Yoruba traditional institution by launching a campaign of blackmail, fake news and cheap lies against Yoruba monarchs.

They expressed their displeasure towards the attitude of Igboho and his supporters at a press conference and solidarity march in support of the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi held in Sagamu area of the state.

There had been verbal attacks on the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi and the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo on the social media for expressing their views on the call for Yoruba secession.

But, speaking on behalf of the youths, the coordinator NYCN Sagamu, Comrade Idris Awoderu described Igboho's supporters as "real enemies of Yorubaland and children of no moral values" who engage in the blackmail of Yoruba monarchs "to get public sympathy for their naive and unprogressive agenda".

Awoderu insisted that the allegations were full of propaganda aimed towards getting public sympathy for the actualisation of their personal agenda.
