SON impounds substandard cables worth millions
The Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) in Kwara state have impounded suspected sub-standard cables and wires worth about five million Naira.
The state coordinator, Esther Okon said over a thousand rolls of fake cables and wires have been seized from twenty different shops in Ilorin metropolis for further investigation.
After the mop-up exercise, the state coordinator of the agency said various cases of fire outbreaks in homes and offices have been traced to imported substandard cables, therefore, the exercise is to prevent further dangers associated with imported cables and wires
She also advised citizen to go for made in Nigeria cable because it has been tested and satisfied
