Police Parades Fake Lawyer, Immigration Officers in Ogun

The Ogun state police command has paraded a fake lawyer, Lawrence Oyedunu and four immigration officers for impersonation.

Parading the suspects alongside 45  others for various offences at the Command's headquarters in Abeokuta, the state capital, the Ogun state commissioner of Police, Kenneth Ebrinsom said the fake lawyer was arrested after duping an unsuspecting client of N400,000 naira.

The police boss said the suspect was arrested after the client petitioned the police over the disappearance and non- the appearance of the lawyer at court sittings after the judge questioned the competence of the suspect in court.

Speaking further, Ebrimson revealed that the police arrested the four fake immigration officers after one of them impersonated the state controller at a Chinese company in Sagamu after trying to dupe the expatriates.

He said the police recovered fake identification cards of the Controller and assistant controller and immigration uniform. 

Speaking to journalists, one of the suspects,  Lawrence Oyedunu admitted to committing the crime but denied parading himself as a professional lawyer.

Another suspect, James Okocha told journalists that he impersonated as an immigration officer in order to make money.

Items recovered from the suspect included full regalia of a lawyer, fake court affidavits and forged documents at the suspect's home.
