Kano police command has busts some kidnapping and armed robbery syndicates said to be terrorizing Kano and its neighboring states.

The state police commissioner,  Ahmed Iliyasu disclosed this to newsmen at the state command headquarters, Bompai. He said the robbery suspects arrested are responsible for recent robbery incidents in Kano metropolis.

The police boss said a kidnapping syndicate terrorizing Kastina, Kano, Kaduna, and Zamfara has been busted. Iliyasu, however, added that the ring leader of the kidnappers believed to be in Zamfara is still on the run.

A kidnapping suspect who confessed to the crime said he has been apprehended thrice and let off by the police adding that the recent incidence that led to his arrest occurred in Kano state.

Kano command has promised to rid the state of criminal elements.
