Oyo CP Leads Officers to Troubled Idi-Ayunre-Ijebu-Igbo Highway

In a bid to halt unfortunate cases of abduction of innocent citizens along the Idi-Ayunre-Ijebu-Ode axis, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Ngozi Onadeko on Monday led sweep and restructure security apparatus to the axis.

Recall that the operation, which commenced on Tuesday last week led to the release of a military officer and two women abducted by unknown gunmen in the axis.

According to a statement by the Commissioner of Police, the Command has since sorted out ways to bring kidnapping in the Idi-Ayunre forest axis to a halt. 

The Commissioner of Police disclosed that to consolidate the success recorded from various releases of abducted persons; competent officers had been deployed to the Gambari forest reserve and its environs to halt the activities of the kidnappers.

She assured both private and public users of the Idi-Ayunre/Ijebu-Ode road as well as every other boundary related routes within the Oyo State Police Command’s jurisdiction to bear in mind that security apparatus has been deployed in top capacities to ensure that all and sundry within the State go about their day to day activities without any form of molestation or harassment from unscrupulous elements. 

Onadeko solicited their cooperation with the Police with credible and timely information adding that people of Oyo State should stay away from crime and aligns with the holy virtues associated with the holy month of Ramadan, within and beyond the Ramadan period.

The Commissioner of Police was on the spot assessment in the company of members of her management in the said forest, combing through ‘Mamu’, ‘Dalley’ and its environs across Ogun State border with the purposes of sharing information and conducting Intelligence-led operations between the States.
