3 OPC Members That Arrested Wakili Released on Bail

The four members of the Oodua People’s Congress detained by the Police in connection with the arrest of the Fulani Warlord, Iskilu Wakili have been released but are currently perfecting their bail conditions.

Correspondent Kunle Ojo learnt that the four detained OPC members were released in the presence of the State Coordinator of the Congress in the state, 

Oguntade in a telephone interview with our Correspondent disclosed that his members were released after a meeting with the commissioner of police in the state, Ngozi Onadeko.

He stressed that the bail conditions as stipulated by the police are currently being worked on in order to free them from the State Criminal Investigation Department.

Oguntade said the detained members of OPC were released based on their health conditions and with the provision that he, as the Coordinator, will produce them whenever they are needed for investigation by the police.

Oguntade thanked the police for the gesture adding that members of Congress will remain law-abiding and will assist the police and other security agencies in the task of ensuring the safety of lives and property in the state.

The development laid to rest the news making round that the OPC members have been transferred to Abuja by the police for thorough investigations on the case.

The Public Relations Officer of the Command, Gbenga Fadeyi confirmed the release of the OPC members saying they were granted bail on their health conditions.

Recall that the Commissioner of Police in the State, Ngozi Onadeko while addressing some selected journalists in Ibadan on Monday said the four suspects were arrested razing the house of Wakili as well as the murder of a middle-aged woman.

She disclosed that the confessional statement of the suspected had been taken adding that residents with proven evidence of atrocities committed by the Fulani warlord should come forth with such.

Not only this, Wakili in an interview with Journalists at the state CID denied all allegations levelled against him saying he is ready to defend himself at the appropriate time.
