National Assembly Will Monitor Spending of COVID-19 Funds - Lawan
The National Assembly remains absolutely committed to ensuring accountable spending of all funds that form part of the Covid-19 interventions either from the government or donor agencies, says Senate President, Ahmad Lawan.
He made this submission Wednesday in Abuja at a public presentation of a publication by the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic NILDS on "Political Economy of Pandemics and Consequences of Covid-19 for Nigeria".
The Senate President said the National Assembly will not rest on its laurels, with respect to ensuring all agencies of government executing various Covid-19 interventions are closely monitored.
Galaxy's Godfrey Eshiemoghie reports that Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, said Nigeria had been able to pull through the pandemic by legislative and divine interventions.
