The new Police commissioner posted to KANO state, Ahmed Iliyasu said his primary focus is to tackle, kidnappings, armed robbery, drug abuse and other forms of crimes that make the society unsafe for its citizenry.

He called on the media and others to collaborate with him in this endeavour.

Iliyasu said community policing is the new form of policing acceptable worldwide hence his decision to adopt it in fighting crimes in Kano state. He urges mutual trust between the police and members of the public.

CP Iliyasu took over from CP Wakili who retired recently.
