Flood ravages Delta community
An overnight rainfall in Delta has led to the flooding of Agbarho community in Ughelli North local government area of Delta state.
The flood which led to the displacement of farmers and residents from their homes also drew the attention of the state commissioner for the environment who was on the ground to open up water channels with swamp buggies.
Speaking on the flooded community, the commissioner blames it on blocked water drains by residents who dump waste indiscriminately.
Some affected residents blamed it on the road network as the commissioner said sensitization have been carried out without resident’s compliance.
Meanwhile, the Delta community which shares a common boundary with Bayelsa state has been deprived of their farmland, as debris which blocked water channels are visible everywhere.
