Delta Police Command Impound 80 Tricycles, 50 Motorcycles
The Delta state police commissioner Muhammed Ali says the command has impounded eighty commercial tricycles and fifty motorcycles as part of measures to carry out the directives of the state government restricting them from the federal highways.
In a statement made available to Galaxy news by the state police spokesperson Edafe Bright, the Delta CP said some of the impounded commercial tricycles and motorcycles were used by suspected armed robbers and cultists to rob and attack innocent citizens.
He stressed that the command has taken possession of the seized items, while suspected cultists and armed robbers arrested will be arraigned in court.
The CP warned that cultists, kidnappers and armed robbers have no place in the state, saying hundreds of suspected criminals have been arrested while some have been sent to prison after being found guilty of their various crimes.
He commended members of the public for providing useful information to the police in tackling all forms of criminality in the state.
