Power Distribution Company BEDC for the first time have come to the defense of the company over the mass protest embarked upon by residents in Warri and environs on the epileptic power supply.

 This is coming after several efforts to reach the Benin Electricity Distribution Company to clear the air on series of protest in Delta state fell on deaf ears.

Speaking on the protest, the corporate affairs officer of the BEDC in Warri Mrs Helen Ogagarue said it was due to mass disconnection.

She blamed the epileptic power supply on some challenges faced by the power distribution company which led to collapse in National grid.

It will be recalled that hundreds of protesters in Warri and Asaba were calling for the withdrawal of BEDC license , while also calling for the arrest of the managing director Mrs Stella Osibodu.
