The United Labour Congress of Nigeria (ULC) in Kogi State has expressed dissatisfaction towards the non-payment of the salaries of civil servants in the Kogi state civil service.

Members of the Congress said they were becoming very uncomfortable with the way and manner the issue of non-payment of workers salary and pension, spanning into months is been handled by the Kogi state government, led by Governor Yahaya Bello.

The Congress alleged that the political class in the state is playing politics with the payment of workers' salaries, stressing that the life of every Nigerian is important.

"We advise the political class in the state to stop playing politics with the payment of workers salary and do the needful.

Salaries and pension are Rights and not a privilege, as anything short of this is criminal. The idea of politicians passing bucks on who is responsible for the present predicament of workers and pensioners in the state can no longer be tolerated by the labour movement in the state and Nigeria at large," the statement released by the ULC reads in part.
