The Anambra stat police command on Monday, October 30 disclosed that it has arrested a police corporal on a special duty at the Okpoko division in Onitsha who allegedly abducted and defiled a 14-year old girl.
The girl was said to have laying about in the area without any clear-cut destination, before she was allegedly abducted by the suspect.
Briefing newsmen at the command headquarters, the state commissioner of police, CP Garba Baba Umar said the police was not known for such ignoble act and that the culprit will have to face justice for unlawfully adopting the minor and having carnal knowledge of her.
He therefore described the incident as a sad episode; an isolated case which according to him does not reflect the core values and ethics of the Nigeria police force, assuring that justice must take its natural course in the matter.
