Barely a week after operatives of the Nigerian Navy Ship Pathfinder disrupted the activities of oil thieves in the coastal Communities of Rivers state.

The Navy operatives have again uncovered 10 thousand liters of Automative Gas Oil otherwise known as diesel during an Anti-Crude oil theft operation around the Eleme express area of Rivers state.

The discovery was said to have been made during a patrol of the Eleme-okrika and Onne general area where the products were contained in four hundred jereycans of twenty five liters each, waiting for onward sale to buyers.

No illegal Refining Sites were identified in the location, but the operation was significant because it disrupted a critical link in the illicit supply chain of moving the products to the market.

The recovered products according to the Navy, were handled in accordance with established Anti-Crude oil theft procedures, while no arrest was made with the suspects fleeing the scene upon sighting the Naval patrol team.
