Ten suspects have been arrested by operatives of the Nigerian Navy Ship Delta in a joint anti-illicit drug operation with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA in Delta State.

The arrest was said to have occurred after a raid on locations used for storage of illicit drugs in Uvwie, Eboh Road, Jakpa Road, Ughelli, among other locations in Otokutu community.

The operation, which resulted in the arrest of the ten suspects, led to the recovery of suspected illicit drugs, which include Cocaine, Tramadol, Colorado, cannabis, and other related exhibits.

The suspected exhibits were handed over to the NDLEA Warri Area Command for further investigation and necessary legal action.

These operations, according to the Nigerian Navy, are threats to national security because the distribution of illicit Drugs fuels criminal activities; hence the continuous, sustainable intelligence-led operations and dismantling of illegal refining infrastructures, which have recorded huge success in Delta State and across the Niger Delta region.
