Five suspected members linked to the gang behind the abduction of 20 NYSC members in Imo State have been arrested by operatives of the DSS, the military, and the police.
The suspects were apprehended during intelligence-led operations in Rivers and Abia states between October 10 and 14. Three other suspects reportedly escaped with varying degrees of injuries.
It could be recalled that the corps members were abducted along the Owerri–Onitsha Expressway on October 1, 2026, and rescued on October 7 during a joint security operation at Amakohia Ubi.
Security agencies say the arrest marks a breakthrough in efforts to dismantle the criminal network and bring the perpetrators to justice.
