A 47-year-old man, Mark Agbor, has been arraigned over allegations that he impersonated a military helicopter owner and sought buyers for a combat aircraft on social media.
The Airport Police Command said Agbor was also accused of unauthorised access to restricted areas at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
According to a statement by the command’s spokesperson, Adeola Mohammed, the suspect was handed over to the Airport Police Command’s International Division by the Provost Investigation Unit of the Nigerian Air Force, Ikeja, for investigation and further action.
Police investigations reportedly showed that Agbor, an employee of Pathfinders International Limited, posted a video on social media on October 7, 2026, in which he allegedly claimed ownership of two military combat helicopters and offered one of them for sale.
The command said the investigation had been concluded and the suspect arraigned before a court, which adjourned the case until November 18, 2026.
The Commissioner of Police, Airport Police Command, Olufunke Ogunbode, said the alleged conduct had serious security implications and could undermine the operations of security agencies.
She said the case would be pursued in accordance with the law and commended the collaboration between the police and the Nigerian Air Force.
Ogunbode also urged companies and other stakeholders operating within the airport environment to strengthen employee screening, vetting and background checks to reduce security risks.
The command reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and critical national infrastructure while urging members of the public to remain vigilant and support efforts to maintain airport security.
