The Lagos State Lands Bureau has engaged members of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Lagos Branch, in a renewed effort to address challenges in land administration, resolve operational bottlenecks and enhance service delivery to residents.
The stakeholders’ meeting, held on Wednesday, 4th November 2026, at the Bureau’s Conference Room, provided an opportunity for members of the five divisions of the Lagos State legal profession to express their concerns, share experiences and make recommendations on challenges encountered in the processing of land-related matters.
In response to the concerns and recommendations raised, the Permanent Secretary, Lands Bureau, Mr Kamar Olowoshago, emphasised the importance of sustained stakeholder engagement and highlighted several initiatives being introduced to strengthen service delivery and improve the Bureau’s operational efficiency.

Among these initiatives are the introduction of a Monthly Regulatory Clinic and quarterly stakeholders’ meetings, which will provide structured platforms for continuous interaction, feedback and the timely resolution of issues affecting stakeholders.
The Permanent Secretary also highlighted plans to develop a virtual learning platform to enhance stakeholders’ understanding of the Bureau’s processes and procedures. In addition, designated desk officers will facilitate communication, provide necessary guidance and ensure prompt responses to enquiries.
He further disclosed the establishment of a centralised land archive, with access restricted to duly authorised personnel. According to him, the initiative is designed to strengthen document security, improve records management and curb the unauthorised duplication and cloning of land files.
The Executive Secretary, Land Use and Allocation Committee (LUAC), Dr (Mrs) Ololade Ajetunmobi, appealed to stakeholders to exercise patience and understanding as the Bureau continues to improve its processes.
She stressed that the integrity and accuracy of information entered into the system remain paramount, noting that the objective is not merely to achieve speed but to ensure that every transaction is properly processed and delivered with the highest level of accuracy and diligence.
As part of the engagement, members of the Nigerian Bar Association were taken on a tour of the Bureau’s facilities by the Permanent Secretary and members of the Management team, providing them with firsthand insight into the Bureau’s operations, ongoing reforms and technological advancements in land administration.
The engagement reaffirmed the Lagos State Lands Bureau’s commitment to fostering stronger partnerships with the legal profession, promoting transparency and accountability, and ensuring a more efficient, responsive and customer-centric land administration system in Lagos State.
