Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has responded swiftly to a viral report of alleged child abuse in Ikorodu on September 22, 2026.
The agency activated its response protocol immediately after receiving the report. Officials contacted the survivor’s mother, who confirmed that the incident had already been reported to Imota Police Station.
Further investigation revealed that the matter had also been reported to the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA). The alleged perpetrator was arrested on September 23 and is currently in police custody, with the case now under further investigation.
The survivor and her mother have been referred to the General Hospital for medical attention and assessment. The agency has pledged to continue monitoring the case and providing support to the family.
Authorities praised members of the public who brought the issue to attention. Lagos State Government reiterated its zero-tolerance policy on child abuse and reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding and protecting victims.
