A Kano-based Nigerian tailor, Abdulkadir Hassan, has completed a 120-hour non-stop sewing marathon in an attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the longest sewing marathon.
The five-day challenge saw Hassan put his tailoring skills to work while contributing to a worthy cause.
During the marathon, Hassan sewed school uniforms for underprivileged children, using his craft to support education and give back to the community. His achievement highlights not only his dedication and endurance but also how personal talents can make a positive impact on society.
Although the attempt aims to secure a place in the Guinness World Records, official recognition will depend on the organisation’s verification process. Hassan’s feat has brought attention to the creativity, determination and community spirit of Nigerian artisans.
