The Ijaw Youths Council, IYC, has challenged Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State to lead the demand for oil block ownership in the Niger Delta.

Governor Douye Diri had expressed displeasure over the scramble for the control of oil pipeline surveillance contract. rather than owning oil blocks.

The President of the Ijaw Youths Council, Sir Jonathan Lokpobiri, however, reiterated the resolve of the Council on the deliberations on the oil pipeline surveillance contract.

According to the IYC President, the governor should take the message beyond that by helping to actualize the dream.

The chairman of the IYC Central zone, Comrade Iniefw Perekosufa, also blamed those calling for the Decentralization of the pipeline surveillance contract.
