Nigerian businesses seeking access to international markets must make quality management, compliance and consistency central to their operations, organisers of the ISO World Summit & Awards 2026 have said.
The organisers said internationally recognised standards could give Nigerian companies an advantage as they seek to compete for customers, investors and business opportunities beyond the domestic market.
The issue will be a major focus of the summit, themed “Quality Creates Trust. Trust Builds Brands”, scheduled for October 29 at the Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.
The organisers said businesses should move beyond displaying ISO certificates and ensure that quality standards are reflected in their products, services, customer experience and internal processes.
They said consumers, investors and international buyers were increasingly demanding evidence of quality, traceability, compliance and reliable business practices.
According to the organisers, standards such as ISO 9001 can help businesses understand customer needs, improve operational consistency, manage processes more efficiently and build a culture of continuous improvement when properly implemented.
They said the benefits were particularly important for Nigerian companies seeking to participate in global supply chains, where compliance with recognised standards can influence market access and business partnerships.
The summit will examine the role of quality standards in export readiness, regulatory compliance, consumer protection, innovation and responsible business practices.
It will also explore how businesses can use quality management to reduce operational inconsistencies, improve productivity and strengthen customer confidence.
A major feature of the event will be the presentation of the ISO International Standard Quality Certification Awards to selected organisations, brands, institutions and business leaders.
The awards will recognise organisations and individuals for their commitment to quality, operational excellence, innovation, customer satisfaction, ethical practices and sustainable performance.
The organisers said the awards were also intended to encourage more organisations to make quality and continuous improvement part of their long-term business culture.
The summit is expected to attract business leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, quality professionals, standards practitioners and corporate organisations.
The event is being convened by an organising committee chaired by Ahmod Bandile, PhD.
