The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris has appealed to officers and men of the Nigeria Police to stay away from partisan politics but should contribute to national development.

Speaking in Ibadan through the Commissioner of Police in the state, Abiodun Odude,  at the passing out parade of Police Constables at the Oyo State Police Command Headquarters in Eleyele, the Police boss maintained that the rapid changes in Nation as well as in the democratic institution imposed huge challenges on the police.

He stressed that the goal of the present administration in the Nigeria Police force is to ensure that members of the force are made competent, more confident and more efficient in the art and science of modern policing.

The Inspector General of Police appealed to the recruit constables to toe the line of honour and shun acts capable of tarnishing the image of the force saying there is no place for corrupt, indolent and disgruntled officers in the Nigeria Police.

Idris revealed that the Nigeria Police Force is mindful of pattern and methodology of crime and criminality.
