Gunmen have reportedly abducted seven people in a fresh attack on Nuru Suraj Estate in New Millennium City, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The assailants reportedly struck on Monday night, October 26, breaching the estate’s rear security post where two private security guards were allegedly absent from duty.
Residents, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the two guards had been arrested and detained for questioning over the reported security breach.
Attempts to independently verify the incident and obtain comments from residents were unsuccessful, as private security personnel denied media access to the estate. The estate chairman also declined to speak with journalists.
The attack has renewed concerns about the safety of residents in Millennium City, a rapidly growing urban area in Chikun LGA that has experienced recurring attacks by armed assailants.
As of the time of filing this report, the police had yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
