As part of the intensified efforts to help the police carry out his activities of fishing out the killer herdsmen in the state, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state has donated five operational vehicles to the Nigeria Police.

The Governor handed the keys of the vehicles to the inspector general of police, Ibrahim Idris, shortly after the stakeholders meeting in the government house in Makurdi. It will be recalled that the IGP was mandated to relocate to Makurdi, Wednesday over the incessant killings and displacement by herdsmen. The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, thanked the governor for the gesture and further assured him that the police would do all it can within its power to ensure peace in the state. On the issue of relations between neighboring states, the police IG promised to work out a meeting to resolve the issues.
