The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested suspected receivers of stolen vehicles and recovered four cars in separate operations.

In a statement by SP Josephine Adeh, Police Public Relations Officer,

FCT Police Command, a woman, Mrs. Okanemhen, reported that her driver, Abubakar Nuhu, from Bauchi State, absconded with her trailer after a delivery in Kogi.

He had disabled three tracking devices but overlooked a hidden fourth. Police tracked and recovered the trailer in Kaduna, arrested the driver, who had painted over all identification marks.

In another operation, operatives of the Anti-Car Theft Section and the Scorpion Squad of the SCID recovered three stolen cars: a Toyota Hilux (YAB 891 EL), an ash Toyota Camry, and a Toyota Corolla (bank model).

While the Hilux was intact, the Camry and Corolla had already been dismantled and sold for parts.

Two suspects, Ikechukwu Iwueze and an ex-convict, Amobi, were arrested for receiving and reselling the stolen vehicles. Both confessed and will be prosecuted.

FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Ajao Adewale, commended the officers for their swift work and urged residents to install tracking devices and vet employees before hiring.
