A former Ekiti North Senatorial District lawmaker, Senator Ayo Arise, has described the Federal Government's fuel subsidy removal as a vital move to end corruption and boost grassroots development.

Senator Ayo Arise said the policy, introduced by President Bola Tinubu, blocked loopholes where petroleum operators faked imports to siphon public funds.

He said if the Federal Government closely monitors and properly uses the funds saved from removing the fuel subsidy, Nigerians should begin to feel the positive effects, noting that the government is also trying to ease the impact through gas and electric vehicles, as well as efforts to stabilize fuel prices.

He stressed the need to elect a leader who grasps Nigerian's unique challenges and can continue drive prosperity.
