Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose has granted amnesty to killer herdsmen in the state.

The governor said this while answering questions from newsmen after a meeting between the state government, representatives of the Emir of Kano and the leadership of Miyetti Allah cattle breeders association of Nigeria.

The governor reinstated the determination of the state to work for the actualisation of peace. He promised to continue to work for peace in the country.

Present at the event are; representatives of Emir of Kano, Alhaji Sanusi Lamido who was represented by a former governor of Kano state Ibrahim Shekarau, governor of Ekiti state, hunters, farmers and the leadership of the Miyetti Allah cattle breeders association of Nigeria.

The mission is to find an amicable solution to the lingering crisis between herdsmen and farmers in the state which has led to the death of two people within the state.

Addressing the gathering, Ayodele Fayose assured farmers and herdsmen in the state that he will not relent in his efforts to protect the interest of everybody in the country.

A former governor of Kano state who represented the emir of Kano, and the national chairman of Miyetti Allah association of Nigeria, Mohammadu Kirowa warned herdsmen in the state to avoid night grazing. They, however, declared support for the anti-grazing law of Ekiti state.
