The Bayelsa state governor Seriake Dickson has said that combating human trafficking should not be seen as the sole responsibility of the federal government alone but a collective decision.

He made the disclosure at the government house EXCO chambers in Yenagoa when he played host to the DG and officials of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Human Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).

Speaking on the need for stakeholders to come together in the fight against human trafficking, governor Dickson said everyone must join hands in the campaign.

Responding on behalf of NAPTIP, THE Director General Mrs Julie Okah calls for collaboration in tackling human trafficking which she says is real in Bayelsa state.

In the same vein, the governor also promised to intensify the campaign against human trafficking after being acquainted with the statistics regarding the high rate in the state.
