The Delta State Police Command has arrested two suspects in separate operations targeting armed robbery, attempted murder and stealing across the state.
On October 11, 2026, operatives of Orerokpe Division, acting on credible intelligence from the Civilian Anti-Cult Group, Osubi, about suspected armed robbers operating in a tricycle along Osubi Road, mobilised with civilian anti-cult operatives and local vigilantes to intercept the suspects.
The coordinated operation led to the arrest of Musa Haruna 'm', aged 22 years, and Mubarack Abdulahi 'm', aged 20 years, who were intercepted in a tricycle with registration number BDG 429 QN. A search of the tricycle led to the recovery of one (1) locally made cut-to-size double-barrelled shotgun, seven (7) live cartridges and one (1) jackknife.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the suspects are allegedly members of a criminal syndicate involved in robbing and abducting unsuspecting passengers and compelling them to transfer money from their bank accounts.
Efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend other suspected members of the syndicate.
