As part of measures to reduce crime to the barest minimum level within Warri metropolis and its environs, the Delta state police commissioner, Muhammadu    Mustafa has called on relevant stakeholders to ensure that it engage in community policing with all sincerity.

The police commissioner made the disclosure at the police Area command in Warri during a security meeting with different stakeholders.

Addressing a gathering which includes security agents, local vigilante groups, community leaders and members of the Miyetti Allah, the police boss calls for collective efforts in community policing.

On his part, the Chairman Committee for the Defence of Human Rights(CDHR) Delta chapter comrade Taiye Taiga spoke on police extortion, as the commissioner promised to ensure the safety of lives and properties in Warri.

It will be recalled that residents in Warri have been living in fear over the recent increase in crime, while the stakeholders meeting by the police commissioner will definitely boost the morale of the police and local vigilantes in crime fighting.
