The Nigeria Police Force says it arrested 96 suspects and rescued 42 kidnapped victims during nationwide operations between September 26 and October 2.

The suspects were arrested in connection with kidnapping, armed robbery, homicide, banditry, cultism, terrorism and cattle rustling, among other crimes.

The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Anietie Iniedu, disclosed this while presenting the force’s operational achievements for the period.

He said the operations also led to the recovery of 16 firearms, 31 rounds of live ammunition and 16 vehicles.

According to Iniedu, the arrests and recoveries were achieved through intelligence-led operations and collaboration with communities across the country.

He said significant operations were recorded in Sokoto, Rivers, Gombe, Kogi, Ondo, Delta, Anambra, Katsina and Benue states.

“The figures are not just numbers but represent lives saved, criminal networks disrupted, and communities made safer,” Iniedu said.

He assured Nigerians that the police would sustain operational pressure on criminal groups while strengthening intelligence gathering and community partnerships.

Iniedu said the force remained committed to fighting crime nationwide, adding that the battle against criminality would continue with “determination, intelligence, and with the support of the Nigerian people”.
