The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Kaduna State, Usman Bawa, has pledged equitable distribution of resources across the state’s three senatorial zones.

Bawa, popularly known as ABG, also promised that budget preparation and implementation under his proposed administration would be guided by the felt needs of the people.

He made the pledge at a town hall meeting with PDP stakeholders in Zone One, held in Zaria.

This is contained in a statement by his spokesperson, Yusuf Idris, on Sunday.

Bawa, alongside his running mate, Amos Gandu, said his administration would prioritise people-centred policies through a bottom-up approach to governance.

He explained that the approach would enable citizens to determine their needs and development priorities rather than have the government dictate them.

The candidate solicited citizens’ support, assuring them that his administration would uphold fairness, accountability and respect for the rule of law.

The PDP Zonal Chairman, Alhaji Danbaba SayaSaya, urged the party’s candidates to take their manifestos to the electorate.

SayaSaya expressed optimism about the party’s prospects, saying there was light at the end of the tunnel for the PDP.

Similarly, the state PDP Chairman, Edward Marsha, urged residents not to be deceived again.

Marsha said residents had experienced differences between the PDP and other parties in delivering democratic dividends and providing governance.

In their separate remarks, religious leaders, student groups, community development associations, women and youth groups who attended the meeting expressed support for Bawa’s candidature.

They also expressed satisfaction with the candidate’s manifesto, according to the statement.
