Melbourne Fashion Week is taking over the Australian city from October 19 to 25, bringing together over 300 designers, retailers and creatives for a week of runway shows, exhibitions and fashion-focused events focused on inclusivity, diversity and local retail talent.

This year’s edition, themed “Wear the Moment,” celebrates the individuality and cultural influences that shape Melbourne’s fashion scene. The programme features more than 100 events, with over 300 local designers and retailers participating across the week.

The event opened on October 19 with the ganbu marra runway at the National Gallery of Victoria, spotlighting First Nations designers and creatives. Other scheduled highlights include the Cult Status runway, which focuses on emerging and independent labels, and The Edit, a showcase celebrating contemporary femininity.

The programme also makes room for the next generation of talent through its Student Collections runway on October 23, where current and graduating fashion students will present their work.

On October 24, the City Square runway events will turn attention to street style and fashion inspired by the Australian Open, offering different perspectives on how clothing connects with everyday culture, sport and personal identity.

Melbourne Fashion Week will conclude on October 25 with the “Wear The Moment” closing runway, bringing together designers and creative communities whose work reflects the city's diverse style.

Beyond the catwalk, the event includes workshops, talks, fashion markets and curated exhibitions across Melbourne, giving audiences different ways to engage with the local fashion industry.
