The Federal Government has ordered the Comptroller-General of Immigration, Mrs Rose Uzoma , to proceed on her accumulated pre-retirement leave from today. The government also appointed a Deputy Comptroller-General of Immigration, Mr. Rilwan Bala Musa, as acting Comptroller General of Immigration pending the appointment of a substantive Comptroller-General. This was contained in a statement in Abuja on Tuesday signed by the Director/Secretary, Civil Defefence , Fire, Immigration, and Prisons Service Board, Dr R. Attahiru , on behalf of the chairman of the board and Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro . The statement said President Goodluck Jonathan had approved the pre-retirement leave of Uzoma and appointment of Musa, who is the most senior Deputy Comptroller-General of Immigration as Acting Comptroller-General. The statement read: “I am directed to convey the approval of His Excellency, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, for you, (Mrs. Rose Chinyere Uzoma ) to proceed on your pre-retirement accumulated leave.”
