Ukraine did not receive advance warning from its allies before Russia launched ballistic missiles at energy facilities in the Kyiv region, President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday.
Zelensky said Russia fired 16 ballistic missiles at the region and deployed more than 200 drones across the war-torn country overnight.
“Another Russian ballistic missile attack came in several waves overnight, and once again, there was no early warning from our partners,” he said in a social media post.
The latest complaint followed a similar allegation by Kyiv last week that the United States had failed to warn it of Russian strikes, leaving residents with little time to seek shelter.
However, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio denied on Monday that Washington had suspended intelligence sharing with Ukraine.
“There has been no pause,” Rubio told reporters in Uzbekistan, urging Zelensky to “focus” on ending the war with Russia.
The exchange comes amid renewed criticism of Zelensky by US President Donald Trump, who has claimed progress in negotiations to end the conflict.
Trump said in a post on his Truth Social platform on Sunday that he was making “great progress” in efforts to negotiate peace between Russia and Ukraine.
However, he accused Zelensky of being unwilling to end the war, claiming that the Ukrainian leader “doesn't care” despite the financial support provided by Europe.
Zelensky rejected the accusation, insisting that Ukraine had consistently supported efforts to secure a peaceful settlement.
“Ukraine never wanted this war, and we have welcomed literally EVERY attempt by our partners to bring this war to a dignified end,” he said.
He accused Russia of responding to peace initiatives with further attacks and killings.
“Russia's response, time and again, has been ballistic missiles, 'shaheds', and killings,” Zelensky said, referring to the drones used in Russian attacks.
He also criticised what he described as delays in supplying air defence missiles to Ukraine while sanctions against Russia were eased or postponed.
“When deliveries of missiles for Ukraine's air defense are blocked while Russia is granted relief or delays in sanctions, this is, unfortunately, a denial of reality on the part of our partners,” he added.
