Netflix has secured exclusive broadcast rights for the 2030 FIFA World Cup in Spain and Andorra, marking the streaming platform’s first major deal to broadcast a men’s World Cup.

The company announced the agreement on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, confirming that it would stream all 104 matches of the tournament live to viewers in the two territories. The competition will mark the 100th anniversary of the FIFA World Cup.

According to Netflix, its coverage will include pre-match, half-time and post-match programmes, daily match-day highlights and additional content ahead of the tournament.

The agreement also includes provisions for free-to-watch coverage in Spain. One match per matchday will be available for free, while a national free-to-air broadcaster will air a package featuring every match involving Spain, both semi-finals and the final. The broadcaster has not yet been named.

Netflix’s Chief Content Officer, Bela Bajaria, said the company was excited to bring the tournament to fans as Spain prepares to host the competition as defending champions.

FIFA Secretary-General Mattias Grafström also welcomed the agreement, saying the partnership would help bring fans closer to the game and expand access to the tournament.

Spain will co-host the 2030 World Cup with Portugal and Morocco. As part of celebrations marking a century since the inaugural tournament in Uruguay in 1930, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay will each host a centenary match.

The financial details of the broadcasting agreement were not disclosed.

The deal adds to Netflix’s growing investment in live sports. The platform has also secured rights to the 2027 and 2031 FIFA Women’s World Cups in the United States and Canada, alongside its coverage of other sporting events, including NFL games, Major League Baseball, WWE and boxing.

However, the newly announced rights apply specifically to Spain and Andorra. Broadcast arrangements for other countries, including Nigeria, have not been established by this agreement.

The 2030 tournament is scheduled to take place from June 8 to July 21, 2030.
