The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Monday arrested a suspected burglar, Sunday Habila, at the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Awka Office in Anambra.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Anambra, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident on Monday in Awka.
Ikenga said the suspect was apprehended on Oct. 12 by the security personnel after allegedly returning to the office, following an earlier burglary in the office on Oct. 6.
He said the suspect was initially taken into custody by the NSCDC before being handed over to the police for further investigation.
The suspect allegedly damaged window frames and attempted to remove copper wires, aluminium frames and other installations during the incidents.
NAN reports that before the incident, suspected thieves and vandals had burgled the office, vandalised a lister generator set and removed the parts.
The suspects who visited the office at intervals vandalised and carted away a refrigerator, air conditioners, furniture, electrical installations, among others, making the office uninhabitable.
