Five ships have berthed at Lagos ports to discharge petroleum products and other cargoes, while 20 more vessels are expected between Oct. 30 and Nov. 10.

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) disclosed this in its latest shipping position report released on Friday in Lagos.

According to the report, the five vessels currently at Apapa and Tin Can Island ports are laden with general cargo, bulk salt, steel, petrol and bulk gas.

It stated that the 20 expected vessels would bring in various consignments, including petroleum products, food supplies and other merchandise.

The report also indicated that the expected vessels would bring in buckwheat, containers, general cargo, petrol, crude palm oil, ethanol, diesel, crude soya bean oil and bulk pallets.

The report added that 20 ships are currently discharging cargoes at the two ports.

Their consignments include containers, bulk fertiliser, pallets, general cargo, base oil, diplomatic cargo, bulk sugar, bulk wheat, trucks and petrol.

The steady movement of vessels highlights ongoing shipping and commercial activities at the nation’s busiest maritime gateways.
