The actor, while motivating the students revealed he had to make do with waka pass roles, adding that his mother had to wait for three long years to see the movie he would feature in.

This struggle, the actor cum politician added, prepared him for the future.

He said “My Mother waited for three years, hoping to see a movie I would feature in. She always say to me that ‘Desmond’, you go out and come in, no film, no money!

“In year 200/2001, I usually feature as ‘waka Pass’ in movies where I get paid N500 before I went to an acting school and became a professional actor. Who says there is no space? ‘na lie o’. To be successful, you must learn to work hard”.

Also present at the event was the institution’s Provost, Mr. Gbemiga Ogunleye, he said “Our guest is a writer and he writes well. He is a producer and he produces well. He is a director and he directs well. He is a legislator and he legislates well”.
