The Oyo state police command has cautioned residents of the state against boarding vehicles with police officers as escorts saying not all the officers infront of vehicles are genuine policemen.

The Public Relations Officer of the state police command, Adekunle Ajisebutu disclosed this while addressing newsmen in Ibadan.

He said the command has discovered that most of the police that pose as escort are not real officers but criminals in uniforms.

While appealing to residents of the state to be careful and refrain from boarding vehicles at unauthorized parks, Ajisebutu said the command has put in place measures to checkmate this ugly trend.

He also solicited the cooperation and support of residents of the state towards curtailing activities of criminal elements in the state.
