The operation tagged clearance operation was led by the commander of Operation Delta Safe Rear Admiral Apochi Suleiman, in the company of the FOC Central Naval Command and the NNS Delta commander Commodore Ibrahim Dewu.

Over eight military gunboats took over the Escravos waterways as early as 6 am as the commanders arrived the illegal refineries site, and inspected the vastly polluted land where the commander spoke on the polluted land and solutions.

Meanwhile, after inspecting the damage done to the environment with tanks, pumping machines, and illegally refined products littering the environment, the commanders stormed the community houses where he promised to re-introduce swamp buggies to destroy their infrastructures.

The clearance operation according to the commander is in line with the zero tolerance on criminal activities in the Niger Delta.
