JTF rescues kidnapped oil workers

The Acting Director Defence Information, Brigadier General John Agim has said that operatives of the Joint Task Force (JTF) codenamed Operation Delta Safe, have rescued the seven Nigerian Agip oil workers kidnapped in Bayelsa creeks.


He made the disclosure at the headquarters of Operation Delta Safe at Igbogene community in Bayelsa state while briefing newsmen on the success of the ongoing operation 777.

 Addressing journalists and senior military commanders at the OPDS conference room, the Acting Defence spokesperson talked about the rescue operation and reiterated the commitment of the force in fighting oil theft in line with the mandate of the JTF to protect oil facilities.

In attendance at the briefing were media practitioners from different media organizations as well as senior military officers.
